Trust in Him

"Amalek came and fought Israel... And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of the hill. It turned out that whenever Moses raised his hands, Israel was winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, Amalek was winning." (Exodus 17)

When the Israelites fought against the Amalekites, they had complete reliance on Moses raising his arms toward God. This resembles our fight against the world of sin, led by Satan. Without completely giving our lives to God, we'll fall to the enemy. Satan is Hell-bent on destroying our spiritual lives, so we must remember that the Lord alone is our fortress. Whenever Moses dropped his arm for even one second, the Amalekites started to win the fight. Luckily, God provided Moses with Aaron and Hur to help hold his arms, just like He provides us with our Christian friends and church to encourage us on our walk to true salvation. The Lord alone provides all we need to fight the good fight and win.
