Me? A Queen?

The world tells us that success means driving a Maserati, having the body of a Vicki's model, and living in a fancy house worthy of a Better Homes and Gardens cover. But, can a house tell you you’re "fearfully and wonderfully made?" Can a car tell you you’re the "most beautiful of all God’s creation?"
Nothing can satisfy our hunger the way a relationship with Jesus Christ can; He’s the water that quenches our thirst, the cupcake that satisfies our sweet tooth, & the light that shines our path. He’s the world’s best carpenter, fully qualified to shape us well beyond our imaginations. Shaping myself, I’d be lucky as an old wooden stool in an attic, yet through the incredible power of Christ, He molds, shapes, and glues us into grand mahogany wooden tables in His palace. He can make beauty out of ashes, and all we have to do is hand over the reigns of our lives and trust Him to handle it.
Let’s look at the evidence, shall we? Esther, a favorite Bible character of mine, was a young commoner living in Persia. Her parents had both passed away, leaving her with her uncle, a Jewish man who loved God. After hearing of the saving power of the Lord, she decided to invite Him into her heart for herself. Meanwhile, the king of the province was on a search for a wife, and the most stunning women in the country were called together to partake in twelve months of beauty treatments in order to be presented before the king.
Esther was one of the lucky women chosen for the treatments, and the king was immediately smitten by her beauty and grace. Out of all the women who underwent the treatments, the king chose young Esther to be his wife. A grand wedding ceremony shortly followed, and her family was given palace quarters, forever changing their lives. Through her devotion, Esther was no longer a common woman but queen of the land. God wasn’t finished with her, either, years later using Esther’s political standing to save the lives of thousands of Jews in the country.
According to this (true) Old Testament story, God, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, took a lowly orphan, put a crown on her head, and used her to save His chosen people. Esther was a nobody, but once she accepted the Lord, He turned her into a sparkling beauty. God’s specializes in turning nobodies into somebodies, and He adores when we trust Him with our futures.
The same God who gave Esther a lasting legacy wants a relationship with us, asking us to hand Him the pen of our lives. In return, He takes care of everything! He’ll handle our insecurities, our futures, our relationships... He carves us into beautiful masterpieces. God wants nothing more but to bless His people in order for His people to then bless others. He blesses His children above anything they could ask for, giving them all they could ever need: love, peace, patience, guidance, inner-beauty, and everlasting joy.
By taking His hand, He leads us into His perfect path, not just His permissible path. He knit us together in our mothers wombs, planning each of our days long before our parents even went on their first date. Whether He leads us down a path to become a princess like Esther or a housewife or a missionary or a schoolteacher, God knows where we each belong. The worlds most beautiful women are those who not only know who they are, but whose they are.
Women of God have entrusted Jesus with the pen, knowing He writes better love (and life) stories than Nicholas Sparks.
