Things I L☮VE - California Edition
25 March, 2015

Katy's right, nothing really does come close to the golden coast. Having spent my college years in Malibu, half my heart is still back in California. I'm currently living in my hometown in Wisconsin, "California dreamin," so to speak. Tomorrow morning, (at 4AM) my parents and brother and I are heading to Santa Monica for a much needed vacay.
Best of all, it'll give me a chance to really investigate my heart. Do I want to start my life in Los Angeles like all my other college friends? Do I want to stay home in Wisconsin? Where should I go? Where will I end up?
Although I have no idea where I belong, Jesus Christ knows. I may not know what my future holds, but I do know WHO holds my future. He knows the exact house I'll raise a family in, where I'll work, whom I'll marry... Resting assured that my God is paving a path for me, I can relax, knowing no decision is the wrong decision. I will end up in the exact place I'm supposed to. Thank you, Jesus.
❤ Here's a few California jewels...
Pepperdine University
Ahh, my alma-mater... I couldn't be prouder of my college. This is where I want to send my kids, for real. My favorite spots on campus: the chapel, the beach views!, and the pooool. Lovely.
Bolani's
These gems are sold exclusively at SoCal famers markets and a few Whole Foods stores. It's from the Middle East, and it's basically breaded potato, lentils, pumpkin, or spinach. (tip: order pumpkin, it's a game changer)
Malibu Yogurt
Known as Bu-Yo to the locals, my all-time fave is peanut butter with almonds and berries. At one point I went every day for a month. Seriously.
Calvary Chapel - Malibu
An amazing family of Christians. Bonfires, campouts, dinner parties, sleepovers, brunches, Superbowl Sunday fiestas, concerts... I can't begin to tell you the wonderful connections I've made through this church.
Solo sunsets at Zuma Beach
For some alone time, bring a blanket and an iPod & you're golden. Sunrise breakfasts are just as therapeutic.
Beverly HIllsss...
... that's where I want to be. ♬ Hehe. Check out the Pastaio restaurant for some out-of-this-world Italian. Window shopping on Rodeo is always fun, too. Bev Hills (don't hate me) can be a bit exahausting (or is it just me?) but once or twice a month it's well worth it. Oh! And try the Urth Cafe, but not on a Saturday morning. Trust me.
The Basement - Santa Monica
I'm far from being a big partier, but if I do go out with some girlfriends, this is a staple. Live music (lots of upbeat bluegrass) and chalkboard walls. How fun is that?
Pressed Juicery Truck
I've never completed a full juice cleanse, I think it's overrated. BUT, I am a huge fan of drinking juice along with meals. The pressed juice truck, although a tad expensive, is the best in LA. With 6 types of green juices alone, you won't be disappointed.
Secret Malibu Beaches
The best one is next to the fancy Geoffrey's restaurant, favorite of the Kardashians. Walk a bit down PCH and you'll hit a locked gate (except it's not locked!) Open the gate and walk down the three flights of stairs to hit a locals-only beach surrounded by bright pink flowers. I ran into Gwen Stefani the first time I ventured down there.
