In highschool I used to pray about not getting caught sneaking out my bedroom window to hang out with a boy. It worked, but I don't recommend praying for something like that. Lol. At all.

I still pray... except now it's for the right reasons: to keep myself on track for the life He has planned for me. Dare I say I don't think sneaking out of my house at midnight was ever part of His plan.

Anywho, I have been reading a book called Prayer by Emerson Wilson I recommend more than anything. Here's a snippy:

We can go right on, as many are, looking for and expecting things to come to pass, but I have learned from experience, if we do not really have a burden and really get down to business praying, it just does not happen. God is ready to work. He has the power and ability, and He is waiting for us, as the people of God, to take the burden as we ought.

God is READY to hear our prayers. If we want things done right, He needs to be involved.

Here's a picture of the corner of my room. Those post-its next to my bed? Prayers I posted last fall.

  • For the gift of writing and a published book soon
  • Life of joy, fun, excitement
  • Guidance for the year
  • My future babe
  • My children and children's children
  • James's future (my brother)
  • Strong group of Godly friends
  • Mom and Dad to love Jesus overwhelmingly
  • My girlfriends to have a joyful life
  • Healthy body and long hair

Looking up at those prayers this morning, I realized how they were all coming true. I published a book last month by the grace of God alone... I have been blessed with great friends... and, last but not least, my hair is getting really long (for me, anyways).

I know half of you are rolling your eyes. "You prayed for long hair? Give me a break, Paige."

I know, I know. Like I said above, I don't recommend praying for things that don't line up with God's plan for us. But something as harmless as long hair is absolutely OK to pray for in God's book.

God can answer any prayer, small or big. He loves when we pray to Him about... pretty much anything! What is something small you want to pray for? A new bike? A new friend to go ice skating with? A new book series to read? A fun afternoon?

Trust in Him. Pray to Him. He loves to answer... both big and small.

God loves answering our quirky, funny, random prayers! Journal your prayers, post-it your prayers, Google Doc your prayers. He loves it all.

I am the vine and you are the branches. Apart from me you can do nothing.
