God's Waiting With... Cookie Dough?

Are any of you fans of The Onion ? If not, ya should be. It's a fictional magazine taking actual current events and putting a comedic spin on them. Hilarious. For example, last week in the (real) newspaper, I read how the Pew Research Center discovered the percentage of Christians in the world has dropped and atheism has grown, making atheism the #2 most popular "religious categeory" people associate with. Atheism has grown from 16% to 23% in the last seven years.
The Onion reported the same story , except wrote fake reactions from fictional people.
"More God for me!"
"I thought I felt the forces of darkness growing stronger lately."
"Yeah, but as soon as church is obscure and hip again, they'll come rushing back."
These are all obviously jokes, but the statistical data indicating the decline in Christian beliefs is not. Why? Multiple reasons, I suppose. People are caught up in the fast paced living of wanting things asap. Look at dating for example, why wait for who God has for you, if anyone at all, when you could download Tinder to line up a date tomorrow night? People are also more ME focused... wanting lips like Kylie Jenner, abs like VS models, hair like Ariana Grande, etc.
It's funny, too. Alongside the slow decline of Christianity in the general population, there's been an increase in loneliness, drug and alcohol addiction, eating disorders, divorce, and suicide. People without a hope in something greater are far more prone to fall for lies: needing a drink or five to cure the pain, a stick thin body to be worthy, or a boyfriend to feel loved. As a former sufferer of an eating disorder (before I was a real believer), I am the first to attest that my Godless life was a broken life.
Well, lucky for Christians, we are not ourselves, our problems, and our worries. Instead, we have the spirit of the living God in our hearts, guiding our decisions and whispering just how worthy we really are, regardless of our weight or Facebook friend count or salary. It's our duty, therefore, to spread the truth: God is real, powerful, and ready to help anyone who calls on Him. This life is too fragile to pretend God's not real. Open the door to Him, and you'll find He's been standing there waiting for you all along, complete with 2 hot cocoa's and a roll of cookie dough.
He's the one you've been searching for, darling. Let Him in.
And just for fun, here's a healthy chocolate chip cookie recipe and "skinny" cocoa recipe . Enjoy!
p.s. We all need a little Backstreet Boys in our lives. Thank me l8r. ;)
