Have you ever felt unwanted? Embarrassed? Ugly? Worthless? Like no one could ever love you?

I am the first to admit I absolutely have days like that. I'll go to the gym and feel not thin enough and want to leave. I'll walk into a restaurant for dinner and size myself up against all the pretty girls. Heck, just last night I watched the last 10 minutes of The Bachelorette and thought, "Goodness, I could never have 20 guys all pursuing me, I'm not pretty enough!"

I know I'm not alone in this arena. All of us, guys and gals, tall and short, freckles, dimples, innie's and outie's, we all have personal doubts about our appearance and abilities at some point in our lives. Some even on a daily basis.

Of course, this is not the way God designed us to live, at all. Look at Adam and Eve (bare with me on this off-beat example): God gave them life in the garden, and they roamed freely without any clothes on! And it was no big deal because they had nothing to be anxious, self-conscious, or worried about. Once they sinned, they immediately started to make clothes for themselves because they felt embarrased. (p.s. get it, I said BARE with me, not bear, ha... ha...)

Okay now Paige, I'm not about to prance around naked. I agree, Sparky, but what I'm trying to say is God see's you as flawless without a thing to feel self-conscious about. Once we start to ignore His Word, we immediately start believing the lies of this world of needing to look and be a specific way. We were created, from birth, to live lives of freedom, excitement, joy, and self-worth. God did not create you to be a doormat. Let me repeat that, GOD DID NOT CREATE YOU TO BE A DOORMAT.

I am just as worthy as the girl on The Bachelorette (or girls , rather, since there's 2, but that's something only you hardcore fans will understand). The world may label us as not beautiful or successful or thin or charming enough to do this, that, or the other, but those are liezzz. God created us all for one purpose: to glorify His great name. He did not create us to be fearful, anxious, and embarrassed of our looks or abilities.

If you're an old movie buff like me, you're probably an Audrey Hepburn enthusiast. She nailed it with this quote:

If I may, I'd like to make a small adjustment, however. Happy girls   Girls who know their worth in CHRIST are the prettiest.

Let's prove the world wrong, ladies. Let's smile when it tells us to frown, laugh when it tells us to cry, and throw those goofy gossip mags in the trash where they belong. Next time you feel unworthy, stop, drop, and READ the Good News: Jesus see's you as so beautiful, He died for you.

You're here for a reason.

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
