Teaser_survivor-season-30-worlds-apart-premiere-3

Sooo, when exactly did Survivor become uncool? Word on the street is Survivor is outdated and only watched by middle-aged homebodies who eat tostidos. Well, I kind of am a homebody... and I guess I am starting to inch toward middle-age... and I did finish off a bag of Tostito's tonight...

So, yes. I am a bonafide Survivor fan and am not ashamed to admit it. How can ya blame me, though, I mean really? With all the awful shows on these days... Survivor is one of the few with decent morals, real people, and real determination. True hard work and determination is so fragile these days.

Here's a recap for all you who "didn't watch it" but actually did and don't want to admit it and for those who really didn't watch it but will next season. (right? nudge nudge)

This is Mike. He won 5 immunity challenges making him the best, ever. He won the entire Survivor show by every vote except 2.

This is Joe. He is living proof that man buns CAN INFACT be pulled off quite nicely. He didn't make it far in the game, probably in part to jeaousy over his luscious locks, but he'll be on next season. Women everywehere are rejoicing. (ha!) Go Joe!

This is Jeff, not only the host but the recent producer. And his wife. They have two little children and are the absolute cutest family.

Okay, back to Mike. He was my favorite as soon as Joe was voted off. Why? Well, he won challenges, he worked hard, he was a genuine guy... and he was a strong believer in Christ! He even had Psalm 121 tattooed on his back in big black letters.

Watching the finale tonight, Jeff asked Mike how he was able to overcome so many barriers throughout the game. Mike's answer? "I couldn't have done it without my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who died on the cross for me and whose blood covers all my sins." Wow. Mike would also say "Thank you Jesus" after each immunity win. No doubt he was doing some serious praying throughout the 40 days.

Let's take a peek at Psalm 121, shall we?

He will not allow your foot to be moved.

Incredible, seeing as Mike won 2 challenges where his feet needed to stand secure.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord

What better place to remember this verse than on an island?

The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

With those burning temps, you know this verse helped him. And lastly...

The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Mike's off the show now and came out a winner. The question is, will He allow the Lord to be his strength forevermore, just like on the show?

God helped Mike. I'm not saying becoming a Christian will lead to butterflies and rainbows and reality TV show contracts, but it will lead to peace, joy, and understanding. Even if Mike hadn't won the game, he still would have come out a winner, because he knew his fate was sealed in the hands of Jesus Christ, the One who comes out on top, every time.

The tribe has spoken, His blood covers all.

If this song doesn't pump you up for Jesus, I don't know what to tell you......
