Friday Favorites: Amy ❤
07 August, 2015

Amy Cummins is not only the world's best (and prettiest!) writer, she's also the world's best FRIEND! The fun times Amy and I have had cannot be counted. She is a blessing straight from God and will be my best friend forever and ever and ever. She is perfect!
Favorite food:
Fruits and vegetables – especially homegrown. My sisters and I used to pick wild berries around the house and gather produce from our dad’s garden growing up, and it was just so good.
Favorite book:
Bob Goff’s book, Love Does
Favorite Bible verse:
I have so many! This week though, Luke 12:32 has been a source of great comfort, hope, and joy: "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
Favorite quote:
Albert Einstein has some great quotes, and I love this one in particular:
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
Favorite memory:
A few years ago, I spent part of the summer sailing around the Mediterranean with my family. I love my family and I love the sea, so being able to spend time with them out on the water exploring new places, meeting new people, and doing new things was pretty much perfect.
Favorite "God" moment:
One of my favorite God moments is also a Paige moment! Before graduating from Pepperdine last spring, I had neither a job lined up nor a new lease arranged, and I had no idea where life would take me. It was a time of intense uncertainty, to say the least.
A couple weeks before school ended though, it seemed like my prayers for a job were finally answered when I was offered a position with a thriving company in Santa Monica. Everything about it sounded great, but during my final meeting with them, I kept feeling a tug in my heart telling me to get out of there.
So, I got up and walked out. I remember the interviewers telling me what a terrible decision I'd just made, and that I'd never be successful without them or receive such a good job offer ever again.
It was so confusing. I had been trusting God to lead me, but it felt like He was failing me. Didn't He know that I needed that job? Didn't He know I'd be jobless and homeless in two weeks without it? Why did He put it on my heart to leave? As I pulled out of the parking lot to drive home, I felt defeated and I didn’t know what to do next. That’s when when I received a text from Paige with the words of Exodus 14:14: "The Lord will fight for you; you have only to keep still."
I believe God speaks to us all the time, but that particular message went straight to my heart, and it was even more special that it came through a beloved friend. (And God indeed fight for me then, and continues to fight for all of us.)
Favorite place:
The beach! Even though I grew up in Minnesota, I'm a California girl at heart. Nowhere compares to Malibu.
Favorite movie:
Before Sunset (editors note: Amy and I saw this in theaters together!)
Favorite TV show:
Freaks and Geeks
Favorite future dream:
I have a dream to serve God by starting a ministry for young women with my two best friends. It's something that's been on all of our hearts, and I could not be more excited for it to happen!
